Magnesium Chloride (3 M)

The 3M Magnesium Chloride solution is widely used as a source of magnesium ions (Mg2+) in various biology applications, as these ions provide the necessary balance and osmotic pressure to a biological environment.  Magnesium also functions as a co-factor for many enzymes and plays a role in cell membrane integrity, muscle cell physiology, and nucleic acid structure. It is widely used during immunoprecipitation and in serum-free medium for electrophysiological studies.
