Dulbecco's Phosphate Buffered Saline, DPBS (with Metals, Glucose, Pyruvate)

DPBS with Metals, Glucose, and Pyruvate is a variant of standard PBS supplemented with calcium and magnesium chloride, along with glucose and sodium pyruvate as energy sources. This formulation supports cell attachment and viability during washing steps, making it well suited for use with adherent cell lines where divalent cations and metabolic substrates are needed. The added glucose and pyruvate help sustain cellular energy metabolism during brief periods outside of complete growth media, while the calcium and magnesium support cell-to-cell and cell-to-substrate adhesion.
