Calcium Chloride (1 M)

The 1M Calcium Chloride solution allows for the adjustment of calcium required by cultured cells, and is effective in creating environments that facilitate ionic strength and osmotic pressure. Calcium chloride is commonly used as a source of calcium ions in the preparation and transformation of competent cells, the formulation of cell culture media, in enzymatic reactions, and protoplast preparation. Its unique properties also make it suitable for use in many molecular biology applications.
